Massages

  • Deep Tissue

Deep tissue Massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower, and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

  • Kinetic Swedish Massage®

The goal of the intervention will be to obtain total muscle relaxation and to promote greater amplitude of movement; hence the term « kinetic », which means movement. The Kinetic Swedish Massage® techniques are applied from one tendon to the next. Further to the effect of relaxation on the musculoskeletal system, other beneficial effects have been established such as: Kinetic Swedish Massage® is an experience in itself. It enhances self-awareness, a token for an optimal quality of life.

  • Sports Massage

Sports Massage is a special form of massage and is typically used before, during, and after athletic events. The purpose of the massage is to prepare the athlete for peak performance, draining away fatigue, relieving swelling, reducing muscle tension, promoting flexibility and preventing injuries. The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension, which builds up in the body's soft tissues during physical activity.

  • Thai Yoga Massage

This unique bodywork and massage, influenced by Chinese acupuncture and Ayurveda practices, focuses on improving and balancing the flow of energy. It combines dynamic-assisted stretching and yoga postures with pressure from the palm and thumbs, applied along energy lines and pressure points of the body. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment which relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically. Thai Massage is performed on a mat on the floor. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing to allow ease of movement and flexibility.

  • Esalen® Massage

An Esalen Massage is an inward journey rather than purely a therapeutic treatment. Through long strokes, a slow pace, and pauses, you are invited to return to your natural state of balance and alignment. Transformation occurs not through deep-tissue work but rather through an active participation between giver and receiver. As your practitioner’s hands direct your attention, this awareness evokes relaxation and change. Then your practitioner can apply deeper, more specific work as needed. The massage developed here at the hot springs recognizes that the body releases into pleasurable sensation. The body and mind are one.
